Description
The full-time Instructional Technologist, Team Lead is responsible for creating and maintaining an Instructional Technology team that provides excellent customer service to the faculty of DTS. This individual will lead the Instructional Technology Team to accomplish their roles through hiring, training, overseeing projects, managing part-time schedules, regular one-on-one meetings, high-level problem solving for the team, and participating in the same work of training faculty. This individual will likewise be responsible for anticipating the needs of faculty in advance, learning about, planning for, and implementing new technology for faculty, and solving complex problems related to classroom technology and Office 365.
Along with their managerial responsibilities, the individual’s “technical” responsibilities, similar to the team they are leading, will be to train faculty on the use of desktop and classroom technology including the Office 365 suite (Teams, Outlook, PPT, Word, OneDrive, etc.), as well as how to implement them to facilitate any professional task, whether that be in-class usage, informal communication with students, personal research, etc. Furthermore, they will be responsible, at the beginning of each semester (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer) to help professors integrate Canvas classes into Teams, and support professors in configuring Teams meetings for each class section. Lastly, they will be responsible for leading and managing the Faculty Podcast initiative, which includes onboarding new faculty to the initiative, managing YouTube channels from topic to production to marketing, and managing GTAs (and potentially interns) to help in the process.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Interview and hire part-timers to fill the role of Instructional Technologist.

Supervise a team of part-timers (Instructional Technologists) and 1 full-time Instructional Technologist (our classroom specialist): set goals, determine pay increases, manage part-timer hours, etc.
Conduct weekly meetings with each employee to facilitate relationships and accountability.
Regularly report to the Helpdesk Manager to ensure accountability and clear communication.
Qualifications
Provide excellent customer service to the DTS family, with a particular emphasis on faculty.
Schedule and conduct training sessions with academic departments, which will include interfacing with department heads and administrative assistants.
Regularly interface with the Academic Affairs Office and the Dean of Faculty Development to keep a pulse on the needs of the faculty.
Proactively conduct extensive and thorough Teams training with all faculty.
Proactively conduct extensive and thorough classroom technology training with faculty using MTRs (Microsoft Teams Rooms).
Conduct additional Office 365 training, particularly on the creative use of PowerPoint and Word.
Manage semesterly class scheduling through training faculty and providing consistent help for those requiring it.
Appropriately elevate tickets through the proper channels.
Manage Faculty Podcast Initiative: This includes (1) technical expertise in Podcasting equipment; (2) understanding of YouTube topic, script, and recording best practices; (3) managing a marketing strategy for various channels; (4) teaching and facilitating GTAs assistance in professor podcasts; (5) an ability to onboard a new client (professor), taking them from zero to developing a long-term strategy and recording their first podcast.
Other tasks as directed by DTS management and IT department personnel.

Education and Experience
Experience with both Mac and Windows Operating Systems.
Working knowledge of Office 365. An intimate understanding of Teams is preferred.
At least two years of leadership experience requested.
Experience supporting faculty in a technological environment
Experience hosting and managing a Podcast
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds for short periods.
Must be able to stand on a ladder.
Must be able to perform classroom and Podcast Studio maintenance.
