Math Content Specialist Responsibilities
- Deliver professional development sessions.
- Maintain and update content training materials.
- Provide support to teachers and clients regarding math content.
- Manage and facilitate forums for math teachers.
- Communicate regularly with math teachers.
- Serve as a liaison between teachers and instructional leaders.
- Review and analyze math-specific data, including course audits.
- Offer instructional coaching to math teachers.
- Develop and share math course resources, including those on SharePoint.
- Report and address any necessary course corrections.
- Support the development and adjustment of math course content.
- Collaborate with the Partner Success Team as needed.
- Handle additional math content responsibilities as required.
- Maintain educationally sound rubrics for math courses.
- Fulfill continuing education requirements as per state teaching certification.
- Work professionally with staff and faculty to enhance the student experience; act as a trainer and mentor to other teachers.
- Contribute to community building through newsletters and events.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions; engage actively in teacher discussion groups, sharing ideas and resources.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for course reviews to ensure accurate and current math content, assessments, gradebooks, and course tools; collaborate with staff, teachers, and course writers to enhance the curriculum.
- Coordinate with Curriculum Architects, Design teams, and production support teams to develop and publish math content.
- Design and write math content ensuring instructional soundness, appropriate pacing, age-appropriateness, consistency in tone and style, accessibility, and readability.
- Upload math content into various corporate systems such as Learnosity, Brightspot, Canvas, DAM, and SharePoint.
- Respond to feedback from users and academic reviewers.
- Stay updated on current research and best practices in curriculum, instructional design, and assessment.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree AND
- Three (3) years of experience teaching K12 Stride secondary math courses
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Certificates and Licenses: Appropriate state certification
Other Required Qualifications
- Excellent knowledge of motivational techniques
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills; Ability to anticipate potential problems in planning and implementing programs
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of instructional methodology
- Communicates effectively both orally and in writing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook as well as Internet research methods; Web proficiency; Utilizes computer software associated with curriculum
- Willingness and ability to obtain additional licensing as required
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Ability to clear required background check
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with a charter school or other non-traditional school environment
- Experience working for distance education providers
- Experience working with educational technology

- This position is virtual and open to residents of the 50 states, D.C.
- Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
- We anticipate this position will pay a salary of $45,118.00 to $56,397.00. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
