Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• HSE diploma is required.
• No professional work experience required.
• Title I assignments may require two years of study or an associate’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• Basic knowledge of office equipment (phones, copiers, fax, email).
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Intermediate English language skills.
• Intermediate verbal and written communication abilities.
• Advanced interpersonal relations skills.
• Advanced organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Ability to diffuse and manage volatile or stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in preparing materials, tests, attendance, and documentation.
• Assist with curriculum delivery to individuals and small groups to ensure mastery of subjects.
• Monitor students and reinforce appropriate behavior during activities and transitions.
• Perform basic clerical tasks for the teacher, including typing, filing, data entry, and supplies ordering.
• Support other classroom events such as field trips or drills as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
