Job description

Instructional Designer / Learning Project Manager

Our client, a global leader in technology and innovation, is seeking a versatile Instructional Designer / Learning Project Manager to support a major initiative: educating internal and external members of their supply chain—including leaders—on supply chain standards and best practices. This role is ideal for a highly skilled eLearning professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, can flex between instructional design and graphic/presentation design, and brings strong project management experience in eLearning development.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with SMEs and the internal training team to assess existing materials, determine what to update versus build from scratch, and create new content as needed.
  • Design and develop 15–20 interactive eLearning courses (10–45 minutes in length) using modern authoring tools.
  • Manage the end-to-end development of eLearning projects, including scoping, timelines, stakeholder communications, and quality assurance.
  • Create engaging graphics and presentations, leveraging tools like Adobe Illustrator to produce high-quality visuals aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Support the team in evaluating, planning, and implementing a new LMS/LCMS, offering insights and lessons learned from prior system implementations.
  • Ensure content is instructionally sound, visually engaging, and accessible for global audiences across technical fields such as advanced manufacturing, supply chains, environmental topics, and health & safety.
Required Skills & Experience
  • LMS/LCMS expertise with hands-on experience in planning, acquiring, implementing, and administering learning platforms; ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Learning Project Management experience overseeing eLearning development projects (formal PM certification not required).
  • Graphic and Presentation Design skills, including the ability to develop high-quality visuals in Adobe Illustrator or similar tools.
  • Strong Instructional Design expertise in eLearning, with proficiency in chunking strategies, interactivity, and adult learning principles.
  • Proficiency in authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline 360, or Lectora; ability to recommend and adopt the best-fit tools for new course development.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across a 12-person communications team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, engaging learning experiences.
Tools & Technology
  • Adobe Captivate (with a transition plan to other tools such as Storyline 360 or Lectora).
  • Adobe Illustrator and related design software.
  • Microsoft Office and other standard collaboration tools.
Work Structure
  • Consultant will be part of a 12-person communications team, serving as the eLearning SME and reporting to the team lead.
  • Work is independent but highly collaborative, requiring proactive communication and strong prioritization skills.
  • Tools and laptop will be provided—consultant does not need to supply their own licenses.

The pay range for this is $55.00 to $60.00 per hour on a W2 basis. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, relevant education, certifications and specific work location.
