Job summary

AbbVie OneHUB is seeking an Instructional Designer to design and develop learning content across eLearning modules, videos, graphics, simulations, and other assets for a regulated pharma environment.

You will collaborate with SMEs and cross-functional partners, apply adult learning principles, manage projects with tight timelines, and contribute to learner-centered solutions while working onsite three days per week at Abbott Park.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, or related field.
  • 2–3 years in adult learning, instructional design, or training development; pharma or regulated industry preferred.
  • Strong foundation in instructional design principles and adult learning theory.
  • Proficiency with contemporary content development tools for eLearning, graphics, video, or simulations.
  • Ability to rapidly develop high-quality digital learning assets that are visually engaging and instructional.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration with SMEs and cross-functional teams.
  • Solid project coordination and time management to meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving with sound judgment and practical solutions.
  • Interest in emerging learning trends and willingness to experiment with new tools.
  • Onsite work 3 days/week in Abbott Park, team-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop engaging learning content including eLearning modules, videos, graphics, simulations, and other assets.
  • Translate complex information into learner-friendly experiences to support knowledge transfer and performance.
  • Support project execution by managing tasks, milestones, statuses, and risks.
  • Partner with SMEs and stakeholders to gather input, validate content, and define learning needs.
  • Apply instructional design best practices and design thinking to learning solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by enhancing learning quality and engagement.
  • Use contemporary authoring and design tools to build modern learning assets reflecting trends.
  • Monitor learning effectiveness via feedback and completion data and identify improvements.
  • Communicate progress and questions clearly with manager and project partners.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and collaboration in a dynamic environment.
