Instructional Designer (Compliance & LMS) Location: Downtown Houston, TX (100% Onsite) Duration: Approximately 5 Months (Contract) Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Compensation: $40-$55/hour DOE (Depending on Experience)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to support a large, fast-paced corporate training and compliance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys partnering with subject matter experts, developing engaging eLearning content, administering learning management systems, and ensuring training programs are delivered accurately and effectively at scale. This position will play a key role in supporting compliance, regulatory, and business training initiatives, as well as an ongoing LMS transition project. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, detail-oriented, technically skilled, and comfortable interacting with employees at all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Design & Content Development

• Design and manage the full lifecycle of training development projects.
• Develop engaging eLearning content using Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, and similar tools.
• Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to create impactful learning experiences.
• Partner closely with subject matter experts to gather content and develop training solutions.
• Review, update, and improve existing training materials to ensure ongoing accuracy and relevance.
• Assist with curriculum development and training strategy initiatives.

LMS Administration & Compliance Training Support

• Provide support for learning management system inquiries related to enrollments, assignments, completions, and compliance requirements.
• Generate and distribute training reports and completion metrics.
• Maintain training records and supporting documentation for audits and regulatory requirements.
• Support compliance training administration and special projects.
• Participate in LMS transition activities, including testing, validation, troubleshooting, and user acceptance support.
• Assist with pre-launch and post-launch LMS activities.

Collaboration & Project Support

• Work closely with stakeholders across HR, Operations, Compliance, and Leadership teams.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactively identify issues, ask questions, and ensure a high level of accuracy in all deliverables.
• Support training initiatives that impact large employee populations where attention to detail is critical.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of instructional design experience.
• Experience developing eLearning content using Articulate Storyline.
• Experience supporting or administering a Learning Management System (LMS).
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong project management and organizational abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Cornerstone SBX LMS.
• Experience with Workday Learning or LMS implementation projects.
• Adobe Creative Cloud experience.
• Experience creating animations, video-based learning, or multimedia training content.
• Knowledge of ADDIE instructional design methodology.
• Experience with Excel, Power BI, reporting, or learning analytics.
• Basic HTML experience.
• Experience supporting compliance, regulatory, or corporate training programs.
