Job summary

University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for the NC New Teacher Support Program Instructional Coach. This exempt, time-limited role will manage a cohort of beginning teachers across schools in the southeast, providing professional learning, individualized coaching, and aligned development as part of NC NTSP.

The position requires a current NC teaching license, a Master’s in education, and at least five years of teaching; leadership in adult learning and strong collaboration

Qualifications

• Current NC teaching license is required.
• Master’s degree in education or related field.
• 5+ years teaching experience with measurable student outcomes.
• Experience leading adult professional learning.
• Knowledge of NCSCOS, NC Professional Teaching Standards, NC DPI Induction Program, Mentor Standards and teacher leadership standards.

Responsibilities

• Support beginning teachers through delivery of three core services: professional learning institute, individualized instructional coaching, aligned professional development.
• Develop the broader NC NTSP program in collaboration with NC NTSP staff, school and district leadership, and UNC system Schools of Education.
