Job summary

Charlottesville City Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant for the CATEC program in Charlottesville, VA. The role supports teachers in managing classrooms across auto, carpentry, and culinary labs and provides essential clerical help.

The successful candidate will have 60+ college credits or an associate degree, strong communication skills, and the ability to follow plans and assist with IEPs. This is a full-time, 10-month position with a salary range of $21.26 to $32.95 per hour.

Qualifications

• 60+ college credit hours or an associate degree preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructional plans and IEPs.
• Ability to work well in a team and adapt to changing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative, clerical, and instructional support to classroom teachers.
• Maintains a safe, orderly classroom environment and assists with student tasks.
• Covers classes when needed and assists with IEP-related activities.
• Supports in movement of students between learning environments and with testing.
