Job Summary:

The Instructional Assistant Teacher provides support to teachers, including implementing instructional programs, assessing student performance, and other tasks as needed by the teacher.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Implement lesson plans, including instructional groups, per the teacher’s direction.
2. Lead small and large group instruction for students.
3. Assist teachers in writing lesson plans and Individual Education Plans.
4. Assist in planning and developing/setting up instructional materials for the classroom.
5. Administer assessments and monitor student progress.
6. Document academic progress through observations and data collection.
7. Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior and classroom management techniques.
8. Perform teacher duties in their absence.
9. Stay informed on best and promising educational practices (e.g., attending professional development, participating in book studies).
10. Provide caretaking and housekeeping duties as needed (e.g., changing students, maintaining classroom cleanliness).
11. Maintain positive interactions and communication with staff and parents.
12. Attend required trainings, meetings, and events.
13. Inform administration of all parent and student concerns and complaints.
14. Ensure compliance with procedures and guidelines set by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other agencies.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.
