Job summary

Lake Washington School District in Kirkland, WA is seeking a paraeducator to assist teaching staff and maintain an orderly classroom. This 183-day position offers 4 hours daily, 8:25am–12:55pm, at Peter Kirk Elementary within the LW Learning Community.

Qualifications include being 18+ with a HS diploma or equivalent, plus an AA or 72 college credits or ParaPro/Paraprofessional scores. Finalists will be contacted for interviews; LWSD does not sponsor employment at this time.

Hours Per Day: 4 hours

Shift: 8:25am-12:55pm at this time. Shift subject to change.

Location: Peter Kirk Elementary (located within the Lake Washington Learning Community)

This position is posted in accordance with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Collective Bargaining Agreement transfer process outlined in Section 15.9 The position will be posted internally for five (5) workdays. The internal posting will close on August 13, 2026. Interested employees must submit an Internal Application. To be eligible for transfer, employees must meet the posted qualifications and have been in their current position for at least six (6) months. Qualified applicants will be contacted directly. If no internal candidates are selected for transfer, the position will be posted for one (1) week to consider both internal and external applicants.

Hourly Rate: $27.71/an hour (SC11SEIU26-27.pdf) Position is eligible for membership in the Service International Employees Union No. 925

Education And Experience Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent. Must hold an Associate degree (AA) or higher OR have completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credit hours, OR have passed an Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment documenting a score of 455 or higher, OR have passed the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220 or higher. Official documentation will be required upon hire.
