Job summary

Lake Washington School District is seeking an instructional assistant to join Smith Elementary. The role supports teachers by handling instructional tasks and maintaining an orderly classroom, contributing to a positive learning environment.

Assignments may include lunch duty, crossing guard and playground duties, and work in library or after-school programs. This 3.5-hour shift runs 11:15am to 2:45pm within a 183-day calendar and Smith Elementary in the Eastlake Learning Community.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree (AA) or 72 college quarter credit hours or valid ParaPro/Paraprofessional assessment scores.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent. Must hold an Associate degree (AA) or higher OR have completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credit hours, OR have passed an Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment documenting a score of 455 or higher, OR have passed the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220 or higher. Official documentation will be required upon hire.
• Must pass criminal background check

This position is posted in accordance with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Collective Bargaining Agreement transfer process outlined in Section 15.9.
