Lake Washington School District is seeking an instructional assistant to join Smith Elementary. The role supports teachers by handling instructional tasks and maintaining an orderly classroom, contributing to a positive learning environment.

Assists teaching staff by completing instructional tasks and maintaining an orderly classroom to provide a positive learning environment. May be assigned to classroom, lunchroom, library, before or after school academic programs, or office. At elementary level, assignment includes crossing guard and playground duties. May be assigned to an individual student or work with entire classroom.
This position is posted in accordance with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Collective Bargaining Agreement transfer process outlined in Section 15.9. The position will be posted internally and externally for five (5) workdays. The internal posting will close on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026. Interested employees must submit an Internal Application. To be eligible for transfer, employees must meet the posted qualifications and have been in their current position for at least six (6) months. Qualified applicants will be contacted directly. If no internal candidates are selected for transfer, the position will be posted for one (1) week to consider both internal and external applicants.
