Lake Washington School District is seeking a paraeducator to assist teaching staff at Kirk Elementary within the Lake Washington Learning Community. The role supports classroom and school programs to foster a positive learning environment.
Requirements include being at least 18 years old and possessing a high school diploma or equivalent. An AA degree or 72 college credits OR passing ParaPro/Paraprofessional assessments is accepted. A criminal background check is required.

This position is posted in accordance with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Collective Bargaining Agreement transfer process outlined in Section 15.9 The position will be posted internally for five (5) workdays. The internal posting will close on Thursday, August 20th, 2026. Interested employees must submit an Internal Application. To be eligible for transfer, employees must meet the posted qualifications and have been in their current position for at least six (6) months. Qualified applicants will be contacted directly. If no internal candidates are selected for transfer, the position will be posted for one (1) week to consider both internal and external applicants.

Assists teaching staff by completing instructional tasks and maintaining an orderly classroom to provide a positive learning environment. May be assigned to classroom, lunchroom, library, before or after school academic programs, or office. At elementary level, assignment includes crossing guard and playground duties. May be assigned to an individual student or work with entire classroom.
