Job summary

GEO Reentry Services LLC in Beaumont, TX is seeking a Cook to join our facility's dining operations. Under general supervision, you will prepare large quantities of a variety of foods, including meats, seafood, gravies, soups, vegetables, and other items, using diverse cooking methods while following approved recipes and production plans.

You will supervise detainee food service staff, conduct training, schedule production, maintain inventories, ensure sanitation and safety, and support quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• Prior cooking and correctional food service training preferred.
• Minimum one year prior experience in food preparation in commercial, military, or institutional setting.

Responsibilities

• The Cook prepares food as directed in the facility menu plan and ensures recipes meet population requirements.
• Directs work, provides training and performs inspections of detainee food service staff.
• Conducts orientation and training programs for staff employees.
• Responsible for scheduling production and quality assurance of all foods and supplies.
• Places orders for food and supplies and maintains inventory and sanitation programs.
