Job summary

GEO Reentry Services LLC is seeking a qualified cook to prepare large quantities of meals for the facility, following the menu plan and ensuring timely service while maintaining quality.

Under general supervision, you will train detainee food service staff, place orders, manage inventory, and keep production records. You will also uphold sanitation and safety standards and contribute to a high level of client relations within a correctional setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• Relevant technical training courses in food service preparation and cooking preferred.
• Prior cooking and correctional food service training preferred.
• Minimum one (1) year prior experience in commercial or restaurant food preparation.
• Experience in military, or institutional setting, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cooks food as directed in the facility menu plan and maintains production records.
• Directs work, provides training and performs inspections of detainee food service staff.
• Conducts orientation and training programs for staff employees.
• Responsible for preparation scheduling and quality assurance of all foods and supplies.
• Responsible for placing orders for food and supplies and managing deliveries and inventory.
• Ensures the sanitation and safety program is actively practiced across the department.
• Assists management in maintaining good client relations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
