Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year experience as a cook in an institutional food service setting preferred.
• Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation, and infection control practices.
• ServSafe certification within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise culinary center staff in the absence of the Chef or CDM.
• Handle and store all food per procedures and safety guidelines.
• Follow standardized recipes and prepared menus.
• Prepare foods per menu cycles developed by Registered Dietitians.
• Cook high-quality meals at correct temperatures and times.
• Use food supplies and equipment efficiently to minimize waste.
• Maintain food alternates to accommodate resident preferences.
• Oversee staff, storage, prep, tray assembly, and cleaning.
• Operate and clean equipment per manufacturer and schedule.
• Inspect trays after meals and report results to the CDM.
• Maintain sanitation and compliant storage of food items.
• Report equipment problems promptly to supervisor.
• Keep workspaces clean and safe per procedures.
