Job summary

Peak Behavioral Health in Santa Teresa, NM is seeking a full-time Cook to implement menus, coordinate food preparation, and serve meals to patients, staff and visitors. Responsibilities include following dietary guidelines, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring nutritious, appealing meals daily.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years in institutional food service, with ServSafe or similar certification preferred. On-site work with one shift.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent required.
• Two or more years’ experience in food service role in preparing food for institutions, such as school, hospital or cafeteria preferred.
• SERV Safe Certification or similar food safety certification, where required by the state or facility.

Responsibilities

• Plans and prepares foods in accordance with facility policies, approved dietary guidelines and recipes/menus provided by supervisor or Dietician.
• Directs activities of staff who assist in preparing and serving meals.
• Maintains temperature logs and proper storage, labeling and dating of food items.
• Cleans and inspects equipment and work areas to ensure cleanliness and safe operation.
• Performs inventory of supplies and assists in storage of foods and supplies.
