Palms Behavioral Health in Harlingen, Texas seeks an Acute Cook to implement menus, prepare meals, and coordinate food service for patients, staff, and visitors. The role ensures nutritious, appealing dishes and adheres to dietary guidelines, allergy requirements, and infection-control procedures.

You will also help with inventory, ordering, and sanitation. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least two years of institutional food service experience, plus SERV Safe certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years’ experience in food service in institutions.
• SERV Safe or equivalent food safety certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare foods according to menus and recipes.
• Coordinate food preparation and serve meals for patients, staff and visitors.
• Maintain food safety, temperature logs, and sanitation.
• Direct staff assisting in preparing and serving meals.
• Order, inventory and store supplies per policy.
