Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of hospital, institutional, or restaurant cooking experience to include food preparation.
• Previous experience in commercial food preparation required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in ability to safely and effectively operate standard foodservice equipment.
• Decision-making, oral communication, planning, problem solving, and teamwork.
• Self-motivated, high energy level and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals on time according to menus and established safety procedures.
• Prepare hot food items that are palatable and visually appealing.
• Consult productions sheets for quantities of food to prepare.
• Follow approved recipes and substitutions as required.
• Serve food according to proper portion control procedures.
• Replenish food supply on tray line and in Dining Room as needed.
• Complete pre-prep of food items for next day’s meals.
• Assure foods and supplies are available for next day’s meals.
• Adhere to HIPAA and privacy/security policies where applicable.
• Perform daily cleaning and maintain work areas in a clean, safe manner.
• Assist in food preparation and service for special meals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.
