Qualifications

• Prominent scholarly achievement in social/behavioral sciences or related interdisciplinary fields.
• Experience in research and administrative leadership at a university level.
• Tenured or tenure-eligible status at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for IBS with a forward-looking vision and interdisciplinary direction.
• Lead recruitment, appointment, mentorship, development, and retention of faculty, staff, researchers, and students.
• Promote research excellence and scholarly impact across the institute and ensure informed, timely decisions.
• Oversee IBS budget, personnel actions, and resource allocation in line with university policy.
• Convene and lead meetings of the IBS Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
• Represent IBS to CU Boulder, campus partners, funders, and external communities.
• Cultivate strategic relationships with federal agencies, foundations, industry, and national laboratories to attract resources.
• Advance IBS impact through dissemination, translation, and engagement with policymakers and practitioners.
• Collaborate with other institute directors and campus initiatives to advance research and scholarship.
