Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking an Installed Framing Superintendent to lead framing installs for single and multi-family homes based on blueprints and contracts. You will oversee skilled crews, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure safety and quality standards on every job site.

The ideal candidate has 3–4 years of framing experience, reads blueprints, and demonstrates strong math and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to excellent customer service and on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of residential or light commercial framing experience.

• Ability to analyze and provide recommendations to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze jobsite prior to the start to ensure quality framing.
• Review construction documents and understand material needed.
• Frame buildings according to blueprint.
• Create and supports a safe work environment on the job site.
• Coordinate with the team to ensure material delivery and plan copies to the labor broker.
• Schedule delivery according to the Construction Manager's schedule.
• Ensure framing complies with OSHA, Carter Lumber standards and rules.
• Ensure project is completed in a timely manner.
• Provide high-quality workmanship to customers.

Job description

A Carter Lumber Installed Framing Superintendent will manage the framing install process for single and multi-family homes according to blueprints and customers contracts. Knowledge of building materials, local building codes and proper installation techniques will be vital in this position’s success as well as a strong commitment to customer service. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.

Requirements

• 3-4 yrs experience in residential or light commercial construction primarily in framing
• Ability to read blueprints
• Strong knowledge of building materials and tools
• Possess a strong work ethic and the ability to work under time constraints
• Possess strong math skills
• Ability to follow directions both written and verbal
• Ability to analyze and provide recommendations to solve problems
• Knowledgeable in scheduling programs such as Builder Trend, Build Pro, Supply Pro

Responsibilities

Construction:

• Analyzes jobsite prior to beginning of the job to ensure that quality construction can be done.
• Reviews construction documents and understands material needed to build.
• Frames buildings according to blueprint.
• Create and supports a safe work environment on the job site to protect the interest of the company at all times.
• Coordinate with the team to ensure that the material is delivered and that the labor broker receives a copy of the plans.
• Schedule the delivery according to the builder’s Construction Manager schedule and ensure that the material is delivered.
• Once the framing has started, the Framing Manager must ensure that the laborers frame in compliance with OSHA, builders and Carter Lumber standards and rules, including cleanliness and safety.
• Ensures that the project is completed in a timely manner.

Customer Service:

• Ensures that customers are given the highest quality of workmanship.
• This is accomplished through timely completion of the job, attention to detail, following the company’s code of conduct and the ability to react to problems and complaints in a patient and understanding manner.

Knowledge & Training:

• Responsible for acquiring the training needed to build the product safely and efficiently.
• Responsible for becoming certified in the product/area that is being installed to ensure that we are providing the best service to our customers.
