Job Summary for AV Install Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Technical Production

• Assist with technical assistance for basic and advanced integration projects.
• Understand basic technical processes, hardware, and software.
• Work with the Lead Installation Technician on signal flow assistance.
• Assist in calibrating and tuning audio/video levels and signals.
• Diagnose and correct signal flow issues with guidance.

Mechanical Production

• Provide mechanical assistance for integration projects.
• Understand mechanical processes, materials, and tools.
• Ensure hardware is installed safely and as specified.
• Use proper methods to load/unload, pack, and secure materials.

Production Support

• Utilize room check and dry-run processes to ensure project completion.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Participate in lessons learned and improvement processes.
• Provide daily updates to supervisors.

Engineering & Sales Support

• Maintain PPE protocols.
• Understand document control processes.

Other Responsibilities

• Maintain client interactions and site assessments.
• Ensure safety training is current.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school, trade school, college, or equivalent experience.
• Basic knowledge of AV equipment and construction.
• Preferred: Knowledge of VTC, networking software/hardware, TCP/IP, switches, routers, firewalls, Windows, and customer service experience.

Language Skills

• Ability to interpret complex documents and respond effectively to inquiries.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Mathematical Skills

Apply principles of algebra and equations.

Certificates and Licenses

• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Preferred: Infocomm CTS, Crestron DMC-E (within 2 years), OSHA 10 hours.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift 75 pounds, work overhead, and perform physical tasks as described.

Work Environment

Primarily client site work across NYC Metro, with occasional travel. Environments vary from construction sites to offices and server rooms.
