Job summary

Jobtailor in Nashville, TN is seeking a skilled low-voltage technician to install, configure, service, troubleshoot, and repair Fire Alarms, Access Control, CCTV, Nurse Call, and Intercom systems.

You will program, start up, troubleshoot, and commission new installations, perform basic point-to-point troubleshooting, and review design documents for accuracy before installation. Travel with a crew may be required; on-call shifts are part of the role.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Must pass state requirements for Tennessee Alarm System Contractor License (drug screen, background check, fingerprinting).
College graduates with related degree preferred; NICET certification optional.
Knowledge of low-voltage systems including Fire Alarms, Access Control, CCTV, Nurse Calls, Intercoms.
Technical and computer skills; strong written and verbal communication.
Ability to travel with a crew and work on-site during business hours.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, service, troubleshoot, and repair low-voltage systems (Fire Alarms, Access Control, CCTV, Nurse Calls, Intercom).
Program, start up, troubleshoot, and commission new installations.
Perform point-to-point troubleshooting on low-voltage systems.
Communicate project status, challenges, and completion dates with project lead and client.
Review contract and design documents for installation accuracy.
Perform inspections to ensure alarms are installed and operating per code.
Complete detailed project reports and respond to emergency service calls.
Work varying shifts and rotating on-call schedule; assist with installation projects as directed.

Job description

Install, configure, service, troubleshoot, and repair low-voltage systems, including Fire Alarms, Access Control Systems, CCTV, Nurse Calls, and Intercom systems

Identify installation or system issues for the project lead
Review contract and design documents for accuracy before system installation
Perform inspections to ensure alarms are installed and operating according to code
Complete detailed project reports
Respond to emergency service calls
Work varying shifts and a rotating on-call schedule as required
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver's License
Tennessee Alarm System Contractor License (must pass state requirements to obtain, including drug screen, background check and fingerprinting)
College graduates with a related degree or equivalent college coursework, preferred
NICET Certification, optional
1 year of industry related experience preferred, but not required
Knowledge of low voltage systems, including Fire Alarms, Access Control Systems, CCTV, Nurse Calls, and Intercom systems
Technical and computer skills
Effective written and oral communication skills
Ability to climb ladders, walk frequently, stoop, crawl, push, balance, lift more than 75 lbs., and operate heavy equipment
Ability to work in confined areas, stockrooms, closets, and areas above and below ground level
Ability to travel with a crew and ride a company-provided vehicle
Prompt, regular in-person attendance and availability to work on-site during regular business hours and as needed
