An Installation Technician is responsible for installing, configuring, servicing,troubleshooting, and repairing low voltage systems, including but not limitedto Fire Alarms, Access Control Systems, CCTV, Nurse Calls, and Intercomsystems. The Technician must be a role model to the organization with regardsto integrity, commitment to results, inspiring teamwork and building on ourstrong culture of employee recognition while delivering legendary service toour customers, both internal and external.
Key Responsibilities
- Program,start-up, troubleshoot and commission new system installation.
- Performsbasic point-to-point troubleshooting on Fire Alarms, Access ControlSystems, CCTV, Nurse Calls and Intercom systems and other systems, asrequired.
- Clearlycommunicate with project lead and client on project status, challenges,and completion dates.
- Assistwith installation projects, with direction for a successful installation.
- Identifyinstallation or system issues to project lead.
- Reviewcontract and design documents related to the project for accuracy prior toinstallation of system.
- Performinspections to ensure alarms are installed and working according to code.
- Completedetailed project reports.
- Respondto emergency service calls.
- Maintainsstrong written and effective oral communication skills for both internaland external clients.
- Demonstratesattention to detail to ensure successful resolution to customerrequirements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Shifttimes may vary based on assignments made by the SPM or GM.
- Canbe required to works a rotating on-call schedule.
- Requiredto have prompt, regular attendance in-person and be available to workon-site, in-person during regular business hours and as needed.
- Performs other duties asassigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma orequivalent
- College graduates with arelated degree or equivalent college coursework, preferred.
- Valid Driver's License
- Tennessee Alarm SystemContractor License (must pass state requirements to obtain, including drugscreen, background check and fingerprinting)
- NICET Certification,optional.
- 1 yearof industry related experience preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of low voltagesystems, including but not limited to Fire Alarms, Access Control Systems,CCTV, Nurse Calls, and Intercom systems.
- Possess both technical andcomputer skills.
- Effective communicationskills, both written and oral.
Work Requirements
- Position requires climbingladders, frequent walking, stooping, crawling, pushing, balancing, liftingof more than 75 lbs. and operating heavy equipment.
- Works in confined areas,stockroom, closets, etc. above and below ground level.
- Ability to travel with a crewand ride a company provided vehicle.
