Job summary

M3 Technology Group is seeking an experienced Installation Supervisor to lead its Audio-Visual installation teams in the Houston area. You will oversee field operations, ensure safety and workmanship, and coordinate with Project Managers, Lead Installation Technicians and Programming to keep projects on schedule and within scope.

The role requires strong leadership, the ability to manage multiple projects, and proactive onsite communication.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years Audio Visual experience, including 2 years as Lead Technician.
  • Avixa CTS-I obtained within 12 months of hire date.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Understand project scope, drawings, schedules, materials and site requirements.
  • Lead, support and hold installation teams accountable for performance and quality.
  • Perform quality inspections and identify issues before impact on schedule.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to field teams.
  • Ensure safety requirements and proper PPE usage, ladders and lifts are followed.
  • Coordinate field changes and ensure accurate project documentation.

Position Overview:

The Installation Supervisor is responsible for supervising the technical installation workforce. This position will support the Operations/Technical Operations and serve as a field change agent to help improve overall communication and project execution and efficiency with Installation Technicians.

We are seeking an experienced Installation Supervisor to lead, support and ultimately takes ownership of our Audio-Visual installation teams. The Installation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing field operations, developing team members, maintaining installation standards, and ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to customer expectations.

Our ideal Installation Supervisor is a strong leader who can manage multiple priorities, identify and resolve audio visual field issues, hold teams accountable, and provide the direction and resources needed for successful project execution.

This position works closely with Project Managers, Lead Installation Technicians (LITs), and Programming to ensure projects are properly staffed, installed, and ready for commissioning and turnover.

Project Ownership
  • Understand project scope, drawings, schedules, materials, and site requirements.
  • Review upcoming projects with the Project Manager and Lead Installation Technician (LIT) to ensure the team is prepared for mobilization.
  • Monitor multiple active projects for progress, quality, manpower needs, and potential risks.
  • Conduct jobsite visits to verify projects are being executed according to scope, schedule, and company installation standards.
  • Identify, communicate to the Project Manager and help resolve issues that could impact project schedule, quality, labor costs or completion.
  • Ensure projects are complete, tested, documented, and commissioning ready.
Team Leadership and Scheduling
  • Lead, support, and hold LITs and Installation Technicians accountable for performance, quality, and professionalism.
  • Coordinate manpower and assign resources based on project schedules, priorities, and technician capabilities.
  • Coach and develop team members while identifying training and performance needs.
  • Ensure LITs are prepared to effectively lead their projects and installation teams.
Quality, Field Support and safety
  • Ensure installations meet project documentation, manufacturer requirements, and company standards.
  • Conduct jobsite quality inspections and identify issues before they impact schedule, commissioning, or project completion.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to LITs and installation teams.
  • Ensure deficiencies and punch-list items are corrected and completed.
  • Ensure teams follow company and jobsite safety requirements, including proper use of PPE, tools, ladders, and lifts.
  • Correct unsafe practices and maintain professional, organized, and clean jobsites.
Communication & Documentation
  • Communicate project status, manpower needs, risks, and field issues with Project Management.
  • Ensure field changes, redlines, and required project documentation are accurate and completed.
  • Escalate scope changes, unforeseen conditions, and customer requests before additional work is performed
General Requirements
  • Regular and predictable attendance as scheduled.
  • Work cooperatively with others.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Travel to job sites as needed on or around 50% of the time.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written communication
  • Conduct or provide support as required of customer training and system turnover.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years Audio Visual experience preferred with being an Audio-Visual Lead Technician for a minimum of 2 years
  • Avixa CTS-I obtained within 12 months of hire date
  • Valid driver's license with appropriate driving record
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to use computer for long periods of time
  • Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Be able to pass drug screen and background check
