Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Installation Technician (LIT) to lead the onsite installation of professional audio-visual systems. The LIT provides daily directions to the installation team and ensures systems are installed, configured, tested, and completed to company standards and customer expectations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is detail-oriented, technically capable, and able to motivate a team, solve problems, and keep projects moving toward successful completion

Essential Job Duties
Project Ownership
- Understand the full project scope, drawings, materials, and site requirements prior to mobilization.
- Coordinate site access, logistics, sequencing, and daily execution to ensure progress aligns with schedule, scope, and installation standards.
- Identify and communicate scope conflicts, site conditions, material issues, delays, and potential change-order work before they impact the project.
- Deliver a complete, tested, and commissioning-ready system at project completion.
Team Leadership
- Lead the installation team by establishing daily priorities, assigning work, and setting clear expectations for productivity, quality, safety, and professionalism.
- Ensure technicians are properly tasked and supported before personally performing installation work.
- Monitor team performance, correct issues as they occur, and elevate recurring or significant concerns.
- Coach and develop technicians in installation standards, troubleshooting, and best practices.
Technical Abilities
- Read and interpret architectural drawings and AV system drawings
- Perform AV installation including cabling, terminations, equipment mounting, rigging, rack fabrication, wiring, dressing, and labeling.
- Troubleshoot audio, video, control, network, cabling, and equipment issues.
- Test and verify installed systems, cabling, equipment, and connectivity prior to commissioning.
- Collaborate with remote or onsite programmers during commissioning.
- Conduct or provide support as required of customer training and system turnover.
Quality & Safety
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with M3 Installation Standards and applicable OSHA guidelines, while meeting all Completion & Verification requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site, while protecting customer property and equipment during the project.
- Inspect and verify installation quality throughout the project and resolve deficiencies before work is considered complete.
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain clear, timely communication with the Project Manager, Installation Supervisor, and customer POC.
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted per process requirements.
- Promptly communicate design conflicts, scope changes, material shortages, site conditions, and schedule impacts.
- Work cooperatively with others.
Regular and predictable attendance as scheduled is expected.

Education and Experience
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with appropriate driving record
- Formal education in electronics or related field preferred
- Minimum 1-3 years of installation experience plus
- Experience using AV/LVC and Electronic/Electrical hand-tools BICSI and manufacturer certifications a plus, but not required Training Provided (if applicable)
- AVIXA CTS Certification
- AVIXA CTS-I ( or obtain with 12-months of hire date)
- OSHA 30 Certification
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to use computer for long periods of time
- Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
- Ability to bend, squat and kneel
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to climb and work on ladders for extended periods
- Ability to pass drug screen and background check
