Job summary

Bluum is seeking a Technical Resource Manager to oversee daily installation and commissioning operations across internal and external teams in the San Antonio area. The role drives project delivery per specifications, serving as the main contact for installation questions and the decision-maker for local field engineering.

The manager will mentor staff, manage timesheets and expenses, and enforce Bluum quality standards while fostering a positive departmental culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead performance reviews, coaching, and employee development.
  • Ensure safety standards and quarterly quality control inspections with subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and GC on site construction communications.
  • Maintain installation fleet and ensure availability of tools and materials.

Job description

The Technical Resource Manageris responsible forthe daily oversight of installation and commissioning operations within the internal and external teams, ensuring projects are delivered according to proposal specifications and design. This role serves as the primary point of contact for installation questions and the key decision-maker for the local installation and field engineering group.In addition to internal team management, the Manager plays a vital role in quality assurance by conducting inspections withour internal teams as well as oursubcontractor partners.This position requires a hands-on leader dedicated to training, troubleshooting, process improvement, safety compliance, and fostering a positive culture within the department.

  • Oversee all aspects of team management for installationteams, fabrication teams,fieldengineersand other technical team members asrequired, including hiring, retention strategies, and employee development.
  • Administer corrective actions, including progressive discipline and termination when necessary.
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews to evaluate competencies andidentifyareas for improvement.
  • Function as a mentor and trainer to the team, supporting professional growth and technicalproficiency.
  • Manage administrative functions including the weekly approval of timesheets, monthly expense reports, and PTO requests.
Technical Operations & Project Execution:
  • Evaluate incoming projects to ensure all components meet company standards and assign projects toappropriate installationteams.
  • Assist with construction communication between GC and Bluum Project Managers while teams are onsite.
  • Up to, but not limited to – Daily Reports, Attending trailer meetings, etc…
  • Audit installation and technician hours to manage overall teamutilizationeffectively.
  • Ensure field teams have the necessary materials and jobsite conditions to successfully perform their duties.
  • Address andassistinstall teams and field engineers when onsite issues arise, providing troubleshooting and technical guidance.
  • Ensure all equipment is installed on customer sitesin accordance withproposal specifications and design documents.
Quality Assurance & Safety:
  • Verify and enforcethe Bluum Master Subcontractor Agreement, includingBluum Quality Standardsandthe Bluum Installation Standards manual.
  • Perform quarterly quality control inspections for local subcontractor partners to ensure alignment with company standards.
  • Vet and Onboard potential new subcontractor partners as needed; verify compliance with licensing and other administrative requirements as needed.
  • Manage safety protocols and ensure team members are working safely on job sites.
  • Conduct and document mandatory safety meetings with at least a monthly cadence.
Operational Support & Collaboration:
  • Support Project Delivery and Administration teams by serving as a conduit to field teams and answering technical questions.
  • Clearly and concisely elevate installationconcernstothe project management team and leadership.
  • Stock andmaintainall installation vans with the necessary tools to complete installations.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all installation fleet vehicles.
Required Education & Experience:
  • Secondary diplomarequired
  • Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role isrequired.
  • Five (5) years of direct experience in audio-visual installation isrequired.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience installing A/V equipment andterminatingcables is necessary.
  • Possession of a Low Voltage License (PLT or similar) is preferred.
  • CTS certification isrequired(CTS-I or CTS-D arepreferred).Candidates will be expected toobtainCTS certification within 6 months of hire as a condition of employment.
  • CTS-Ior CTS-Dcertification is preferred;Candidates will be expected toobtainCTS-Icertification within 6 months of hire as a condition of employment.
  • OSHA 30 Certification ispreferred.Candidates will be expected toobtainOSHA 30certification within3months of hire as a condition of employment.
Technical Knowledge & Skills:
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of audio/video systems, including video (projection, production, switching, distribution), distributed audio, pro-audio, videoconferencing, integrated control systems, and mounting methods.
  • Ability to handle a wide variety of projects,including those involvingcomplex programming and configuration.
  • Demonstrated strong technicalproficiency, including the ability to interpret drawings, analyze signal flow, andprovidetechnical guidance.
  • Ability to read and mark-up blueprints of installation projects.
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional time management and prioritization abilities to manage multiple installations and timelines simultaneously.
  • Expertiseworking with diverse personalities and team dynamics to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write clear,timelyemails, reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and thepublic.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision,demonstratingexpertisein handling escalating situations in a calm and professional manner.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect data,establishfacts, and draw valid conclusions from abstract and concrete variables.
