Job description

Responsibilities

1. Deploy simple and some complex IT systems, network hardware, and software, ensuring proper functioning upon installation.
2. Perform physical tasks such as walking, bending, stooping, lifting (up to 50 pounds), carrying, moving equipment, reaching, pulling, and working at a keyboard and monitor.
3. Assist with equipment inventory, shipping, and staging.
4. Serve as a primary liaison with internal and external critical contacts.
5. Address major issues, program goals, work processes, and administrative operations.
6. Support the Network Field Operations – LAN team in coordinating and developing programs related to staging center efforts.
7. Collaborate with staff to respond to equipment requests and correspondence.
8. Travel approximately 50% per month, following VA’s and TISTA’s travel policies.

Qualifications

1. Ability to resolve on-site issues and deploy based on instructions.
2. Knowledge of Cisco LAN 9500 and 9300 series recommended.
3. Familiarity with cabling, interfaces, and device connectivity.
4. Ability to evaluate network design and configuration standards.
5. Experience working at an enterprise level and in cross-functional teams.
6. Ability to develop maintenance, distribution, and replacement plans.
7. Skill in reviewing system status, identifying risks, and devising mitigation strategies.
8. Strong customer service, communication, accountability, and self-direction skills; availability during business hours.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience.
• Alternatively, 13 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Clearance

Must pass a Tier 4/HIGH background investigation.

Location & Schedule

• Department of Veteran's Affairs (100% on-site)
• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EST
