Responsibilities
- Execute deployment of simple and some complex IT systems, network hardware, and software, ensuring proper functioning upon installation.
- Assist with equipment inventory, shipping, staging, and related tasks.
- Act as a primary liaison with critical internal and external contacts.
- Perform work on major issues, program goals, work processes, and administrative operations.
- Support the Network Field Operations - LAN team, especially regarding staging center efforts.
- Coordinate responses to equipment requests and correspondence.
- Travel estimated at about 50% per month; follow VA and TISTA travel expense policies.
Qualifications
- Ability to resolve on-site issues; capable of deploying and executing based on instructions.
- Knowledge of Cisco LAN 9500 and 9300 series preferred.
- Familiarity with cabling, interfaces, and device connectivity.
- Ability to evaluate network design and standards.
- Experience working at an enterprise level and in cross-functional teams.
- Capability to develop maintenance, distribution, and replacement plans.
- Strong risk assessment and mitigation skills.
- Excellent customer service, communication, accountability, and self-direction. Availability on IM during work hours is expected.
Education & Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience; 8 additional years of relevant experience can substitute for education.
- Ability to pass a Tier 4/HIGH background investigation.
