Job summary

Think Together in Hemet, CA is seeking a Substitute Older Youth Leader for the after-school program. This part-time role focuses on guiding an assigned class of about 25 students, serving as a positive adult role model, providing homework help, enrichment, and physical activity using program materials.

You will promote safe, engaging learning, support youth in making good choices, and help implement lesson plans with hands-on activities.

Qualifications

• Requires 48 college units or a bachelor's degree.
• English speaking and writing proficiency required for a public-school setting.
• Minimum age 22.
• TB test and Live Scan background check required.
• At least six months experience with groups of 10+ students.
• Bi-literate in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of approximately 25 students in an instructional setting, maintaining high standards for behavior and safety.
• Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment and physical activity, using curriculum and materials provided by the program.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging for older youth.
• Support older youth in making positive behavior choices and take disciplinary measures when appropriate.
• Engage older youth by following, implementing, and assisting in creating lesson plans.
• Provide general instruction that is active, collaborative, andMeaningful, with ownership and progress assessment.
