Job summary

Think Together is seeking an Older Youth Leader (Part-Time) in Compton, CA. The role involves mentoring a class of 20–25 students, providing homework help, academic enrichment, and physical activity using provided materials.

The ideal candidate will have at least 22 years old, 48 college semester or 60 college quarter units or a bachelor’s degree, and strong English communication skills. Bilingual Spanish is preferred to support English learners.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak and write Standard English appropriate in a public school setting.
• Minimum age of 22.
• At least six months experience with 10+ students in classroom/recreation/after-school setting.
• Advanced Math and English skills (6–12 grade).
• Bi-literate (Spanish preferred) for English-learners.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a positive adult role model for older youth in the program through appropriate dress, speech, and attitude.
• Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment and physical activity using curriculum and materials provided.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging for older youth.
• Support older youth in making positive behavior choices and enforce disciplinary measures when appropriate.
• Engage older youth by following, implementing, and assisting in creating lesson plans.
