Job summary

Campus is seeking a dedicated Teacher to provide students with engaging learning activities in the subject areas assigned, helping them grow intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially. This is a full-time, exempt position within the 189-day schedule and reports to the Principal.

You will plan a program of study, create a learning environment conducive to growth, assess progress, maintain records, and collaborate with teachers, aides, and administrators to meet district goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Meet Texas “highly qualified” standards.
• Texas Teacher Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Prepare lessons with accommodations for individual differences.
• Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of supervisor.
• Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for lessons and units.
• Use varied instructional techniques and media as appropriate to students.
• Implement district philosophy and instructional goals.
• Assess student progress and provide reports as required.
• Refer students for evaluation by district specialists as needed.
• Take precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
• Maintain accurate, complete records as required by policy.
• Assist administration with policies on student life and conduct.
• Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and maintain order.
• Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers.
• Maintain and improve professional competence.
• Participate in staff development and meetings.
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and community.
