Job summary

Lawrence School is seeking a High School Math Teacher to educate grades 9–12 at the Sagamore Hills Campus. This is a full-time, 10-month position with duties spanning classroom instruction, grading, IEP progress reports, and parent communication, plus participation in weekly PLCs.

The role emphasizes structured teaching, small class sizes, and collaboration with administration to support students with diverse learning needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required.
• ODEW Teacher certification required; Intervention Specialist K-12 preferred; Non-tax certification will be considered.
• Affinity for working with students with special learning needs is required.
• Must be able to circulate throughout the classroom during instructional periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare thoroughly for each period to present content in a structured, systematic way and remediate skill deficits.
• Follow Lawrence School instructional methodology after training.
• Maintain a highly structured classroom environment supportive of all learning needs.
• Input grades into the approved database and post weekly grades for parents.
• Complete curriculum maps biweekly to plan skill instruction and assessments.
• Communicate with Campus Leadership Council and parents; meet contractual requirements.
• Report suspected child abuse or neglect to leadership on the same day information is received.
• Review and update Student Learning Plans and use them to inform teaching practice.
• Utilize classroom technology tools available to teachers and students.
