Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of current teaching methods and differentiated instruction.
• Knowledge of wide ranges of mathematics including calculus, geometry and algebra.
• Ability to use data information systems and analyze student performance.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers mathematics curriculum aligned with district goals.
• Maintains a safe classroom and supports individualized and small group instruction.
• Creates lesson plans and learning experiences to challenge students.
• Teaches mathematics topics including calculus, geometry and algebra and promotes critical thinking.
• Designs activities showing real-world applications of math.
• Assesses student progress and adapts instruction to individual needs.
• Keeps up with state standards to maximize achievement on tests.
• Engages in professional development and colleagues' collaboration.
• Maintains accurate records of grades and attendance.
• Encourages parental involvement and communicates effectively with families.
• Ensures appropriate student behavior and learning environment.
• Coordinates with grade-level staff and participates in meetings.
• Selects and inventories books and instructional materials.
