Job summary

The teacher will plan and deliver lessons, assess student progress, manage classroom behavior, collaborate with colleagues and families, and uphold district policies, safety procedures, and high expectations for all students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI).
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• AED and CPR certification (for Physical Education teachers).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the district curriculum requirements and show written preparation evidence.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and technology reflecting students’ learning styles and needs.
• Conduct assessment of student learning and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula for IEPs.
• Work with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers and oversee completion.
