Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI).
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• AED/CPR certification for Physical Education Teachers.
• Knowledge of core academic subject.
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum with accommodations.
• Plan and use instructional strategies, activities, materials, and technology reflecting diverse learning styles.
• Conduct assessment of student learning styles and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEP.
• Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement.
• Sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned.
• Be a positive role model and support the district mission.
• Establish a professional relationship and open communication with parents and community.
