Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks substitute teachers who demonstrate biblical knowledge and effective teaching abilities. The ideal candidate is an active church participant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, caring, perceptive, and proficient in teaching students.

You will complete substitute teacher training, teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis, implement provided lesson plans, and maintain a safe, organized classroom following LifeWise policies.

Qualifications

• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the What We Believe section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the What We Believe section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis
• Implement the lesson plans using the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher
• Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom environment following LifeWise policies and procedures
• Follow the program's student discipline policy
• Maintain attendance in each class and provide attendance records to the teacher
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom
• Know procedures for emergency situations
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community
• Communicate lesson plans with volunteers before class and assign duties; communicate with the teacher
