Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks substitute teachers to deliver LifeWise lessons with biblical knowledge in a caring, engaging classroom.

The ideal candidate is an active church participant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is perceptive and able to manage students effectively.

You will implement the LifeWise curriculum, maintain a safe, organized classroom, take attendance, and communicate with volunteers and the classroom teacher to support student learning.

Qualifications

• Active participation in and commitment to a local church aligned with LifeWise beliefs.
• Mature Christian faith consistent with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training.
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis.
• Implement the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher.
• Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom following LifeWise policies.
• Follow the program's student discipline policy.
• Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to the teacher.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom.
• Know procedures for emergency situations.
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community.
• Communicate lesson plans with volunteers before class and assign duties.
• Communicate with the teacher.
