Qualifications

• Massachusetts Elementary license (1-6) or equivalent
• Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license is required
• Master's Degree with appropriate content-area license preferred within 5 years

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in locations and times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
• Guides learning toward district curriculum goals and communicates clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Prepares for classes and shows written evidence of preparation as required by the contract.
• Employs varied instructional techniques and media to meet diverse needs.
• Assessments: regular progress checks and parent communication as needed.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policy.
• Diagnose learning challenges and seek district specialist assistance as needed.
• Protect students, equipment, and facilities; follow conduct policies and write class rules as required.
• Plan and supervise paraprofessional assignments; include written evaluations.
• Engage in ongoing professional growth and participate in teacher evaluation processes.

Education

Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license

Master's Degree with appropriate content area license

Elementary license (1-6) MA DESE licensure
