Job summary

Onslow County Public Schools is seeking a Part-Time Exceptional Children General Curriculum Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The EC General Curriculum teacher provides specialized instruction, case management, and collaboration with general education staff to ensure a free appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment.

Responsibilities include developing and monitoring IEPs, implementing accommodations, collecting data, and coordinating with families and related service

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
• Holds or is eligible to hold a North Carolina Exceptional Children teaching license appropriate for assignment
• Maintains licensure requirements established by NC DPI
• Successfully completes required district and state professional development

Responsibilities

• Provide specially designed instruction aligned to each student's IEP.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with federal and state law.
• Knowledge of NC Standard Course of Study and transition planning.
• Serve as case manager for assigned students.
• Collect, analyze, and maintain student performance data.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications.
• Participate in eligibility, annual review, and transition meetings.
• Develop measurable annual goals and monitor progress.
