Qualifications

• Holds or is eligible to hold a North Carolina Exceptional Children teaching license appropriate for assignment.
• Maintains all licensure requirements established by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
• Successfully completes required district and state professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide specially designed instruction aligned to each student's IEP.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with federal and state law.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications.
• Serve as case manager for assigned students and collect performance data.
• Participate in eligibility, annual review, manifestation determinations, reevaluation, and transition meetings.
• Maintain accurate educational records and required documentation.
