Job summary

Commercial Metals is seeking a Quality Control professional to conduct inspections, certify products, and lead a team of QC Technicians in the field and plant environments. You will document tests, verify conformance to ASTM and DOT standards, stamp products for shipment, and maintain essential certifications.

The role requires high school diploma or tech cert, ACI Field/Strength certifications, and DOT credentials, with ability to work in varying weather and operate cranes and forklifts as

Qualifications

• Must maintain documentation for inspections and tests.
• Certifications in ACI Field Tech, Strength Tech and DOT are required.
• Ability to operate in indoor/outdoor environments and adapt to heat.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre/post pour inspections and document results.
• Ensure products meet ASTM/DOT specifications.
• Inspect and stamp product per DOT before shipment.
• Maintain plant and personal certifications (ACPA, NPCA, all DOTs).
• Lead and mentor Quality Control Technicians across the region.
• Test concrete properties and document results per industry standards.

What You'll Do

• Conduct and document Pre and Post Pour Inspections of product


• Ensure all products meet or exceed ASTM and DOT specs


• Inspect and stamp product according to DOT standards prior to shipment


• Maintain all plant and personal certifications thru ACPA, NPCA, and multiple DOT's


• Perform daily tests to ensure quality in product (cylinder breaks, pre-pour / post-pour, wire check, etc.)


• Supervise, lead and mentor a group of Quality Control Technicians throughout out the region


• Test and document fresh and hardened concrete in accordance with industry standard

What You'll Need

• Ability to keep and maintain all required documentation


• Crane Certified


• Excellent time-management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision


• Forklift certified


• Work in indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme hot temperatures


• Work near moving machinery and equipment - could include electrical hazards

Your Education

• High School Diploma,GEDor Tech Certificaterequired


• Must have and maintain ACI Field Tech and ACI Strength Tech certifications
