Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in Fort Myers, FL seeks a Quality Control Technician to conduct pre/post pour inspections, ensure ASTM/DOT compliance, and stamp products prior to shipment. You will maintain certifications with ACI/NPCA and DOTs while performing daily tests to guarantee concrete quality.

Role includes supervising QC technicians regionally, documenting tests, and working near equipment in indoor/outdoor environments with potential hazards. High school diploma and industry certs required.

Qualifications

• Maintain and document inspections and tests accurately.
• Capable of working in indoor/outdoor environments including heat.
• Able to operate near moving machinery and electrical hazards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document Pre and Post Pour Inspections of product
• Ensure all products meet or exceed ASTM and DOT specs
• Inspect and stamp product according to DOT standards prior to shipment
• Maintain all plant and personal certifications thru ACPA, NPCA, and multiple DOT's
• Perform daily tests to ensure quality in product (cylinder breaks, pre-pour / post-pour, wire check, etc.)
• Supervise, lead and mentor a group of Quality Control Technicians throughout out the region
• Test and document fresh and hardened concrete in accordance with industry standard

• Work near moving machinery and equipment - could include electrical hazards

Your Education

• High School Diploma,GEDor Tech Certificaterequired
• Must have and maintain ACI Field Tech and ACI Strength Tech certifications
