Job summary

CMC is seeking a Quality Control Technician in Fort Myers, FL to conduct pre- and post-pour inspections, verify products meet ASTM and DOT specs, and stamp products according to DOT standards prior to shipment.

You will maintain plant and personal certifications (ACI Field Tech, ACI Strength Tech) and keep up-to-date documentation. The role includes supervising QC technicians, performing concrete tests, and ensuring safety and quality across operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• ACI Field Tech and ACI Strength Tech certifications required.
• Multiple state DOT certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document Pre and Post Pour Inspections of product
• Ensure all products meet or exceed ASTM and DOT specs
• Inspect and stamp product according to DOT standards prior to shipment
• Maintain all plant and personal certifications
• Perform daily tests to ensure quality in product
• Supervise, lead and mentor a group of Quality Control Technicians
• Test and document fresh and hardened concrete in accordance with industry standard

What You'll Do

• Conduct and document Pre and Post Pour Inspections of product
• Ensure all products meet or exceed ASTM and DOT specs
• Inspect and stamp product according to DOT standards prior to shipment
• Maintain all plant and personal certifications thru ACPA, NPCA, and multiple DOT's
• Perform daily tests to ensure quality in product (cylinder breaks, pre-pour / post-pour, wire check, etc.)
• Supervise, lead and mentor a group of Quality Control Technicians throughout out the region
• Test and document fresh and hardened concrete in accordance with industry standard

What You'll Need

• Ability to keep and maintain all required documentation
• Crane Certified
• Excellent time-management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Forklift certified
• Work in indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme hot temperatures
• Work near moving machinery and equipment - could include electrical hazards

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED or Tech Certificate required
• Must have and maintain ACI Field Tech and ACI Strength Tech certifications
• Must acquire and maintain multiple state DOT certifications
