Qualifications include a High school diploma or equivalent, Texas Code Enforcement Officer License (or ability to obtain within 6 months), a valid Texas driver’s license, and 1–2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
• Texas Code Enforcement Officer License required or pending license within 6 months of employment.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with good driving record.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• One to two years of related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Field inspections to identify Municipal Code violations in assigned areas.
• Consult with property owners to explain required corrective actions.
• Respond to inquiries, complaints, and concerns related to code enforcement.
• Log, track, and investigate complaints; issue notices or compliance letters as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of inspections, violations, and follow-ups.
• Prepare for and testify in court hearings or other legal actions when needed.
• Collaborate with other city departments and community organizations.
• Engage with community groups to support neighborhood clean-up efforts.
• Drive a City vehicle between inspection sites and territories.
• Pursue ongoing professional development in code enforcement.
