Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Two (2) years of experience related to code enforcement inspection are required.
• Requires a code enforcement license issued by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
• Requires a valid Texas driver's license and compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate enforcement and implementation of adapted City of Houston ordinances.
• Perform routine site inspections to enforce ordinances on high grass, weeds, junk motor vehicles and dangerous buildings.
• Respond to inquiries from citizens, officials and City departments; may testify in court or hearings.
• Facilitate abatements and attend public meetings as needed to represent the department.
