Job summary

Reliance, Inc. is seeking a Sales Trainee to join the Inside Sales team in a full-time, regular role. You will undergo structured, hands-on training to handle customer accounts, quotes and orders, and to build a solid foundation in metals sales practices.

The position offers a base hourly salary of $21.15–$23.08, with a quarterly incentive program and benefits including health coverage, 401(k) matching, life/AD&D, EAP, PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of professional experience in sales, service or office environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn sales systems.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a structured training program to learn inside sales systems, processes and customer service practices.
• Shadow experienced Inside Sales Representatives to learn how to manage customer accounts and inquiries.
• Assist with processing customer quotes and orders, ensuring accuracy and timely communication.
• Support order entry, pricing reviews, product availability checks and certification coordination.
• Learn to resolve customer complaints and discrepancies with senior team members.
• Attend department meetings and training sessions to develop knowledge of products and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to sales activities.
• Contribute to team goals by supporting sales outreach, order follow-up and continuous improvement.
• Adhere to all company safety protocols, procedures and ethical standards.
