Job summary

J&L Building Materials is seeking an Inside Sales team member for our Frazer, PA flagship location. You will work at the counter engaging with customers to provide excellent service and drive sales, building relationships with contractors and builders.

The role emphasizes customer service, product knowledge, and contributing to sales goals. A background in building materials or construction helps, with strong MS Office and POS familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree preferred in business field.
• Familiarity with building materials industry or construction helpful.
• Strong MS Office and POS/inventory systems experience preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
• Exceptional customer service skills and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as internal salesperson and ensure high levels of customer service and satisfaction for all activities under his/her control.
• Consistently build and maintain positive customer relationships.
• Enter new customer and sales data into the computer system for current customers.
• Make outbound follow-up calls to potential and existing customers by phone and email.
• Handle inbound sales lead calls and convert to sales.
• Resolve customer complaints and disputes through proper channels.
• Provide product demonstrations to qualified customers on request.
• Quote prices, terms, and prepare sales orders; estimate delivery and resolve delivery issues as needed.
• Coordinate stocking, inventory and cycle counting of all material.
• Prepare reports on business transactions and attend branch meetings.
• Travel to meetings and seminars for product training; perform other duties as assigned.
