What You'll Do
As an Inside Sales Representative, you will ensure customer satisfaction by processing orders, coordinating internal functions, and maintaining profitability across product lines.
You Will
Sales
- Receive calls from customers to explain product or service offerings.
- Quote prices and use sales skills to complete purchases.
- Make outbound calls to follow up on previous quotes.
- Secure and place orders, arrange delivery dates, and schedule pickups.
- Record names, addresses, purchases, and responses of solicited prospects.
- Collaborate with outside sales and management to maintain account satisfaction.
- Work with shipping departments to arrange special delivery circumstances.
- Prepare and analyze reports on sales activities, including expediting.
- Source products for special and direct non‑stock customer orders.
- Assemble all information necessary for a customer quotation and prepare quotations.
- Provide appropriate reporting information to sales management and outside sales teams.
- Follow up after sending quotes.
Customer Service
- Adjust complaints concerning billing or service, and refer service failures to designated departments for investigation.
- Ensure customer returns are handled in accordance with company policy.
What You'll Bring
Education and/or Experience
- Two‑year certificate/degree from college or technical school; or
- Six months to two years of related experience and/or training; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requirements
- Read and interpret documents such as training instructions, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Interact with customers in a responsive manner over the telephone and in person.
- Handle difficult customer situations with diplomacy.
- Resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages; apply basic algebra and geometry.
- Apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Demonstrate entrepreneurial and assertive behavior with experience, skills, and attitude to meet company market share and revenue goals.
- Experience utilizing digital sales tools (job management, quotes, sales tracking, and related web capabilities).
