Job summary

Mustang Cat's Mustang Rental Services in Northwest Houston seeks an Inside Sales Representative to grow our rental business. You’ll be the main contact for customers, understand their equipment needs, and provide rental solutions from inquiry to order.

You’ll work closely with outside sales, operations, dispatch, service, and fleet teams to deliver a smooth rental experience, building relationships and driving quotes to close.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; business degree preferred.
• Previous inside sales or customer-facing experience.
• Experience with equipment rental or construction industry is a plus.
• Strong communication, follow-up, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

Inside Sales | Equipment Rental | Customer Service | Construction Equipment

Mustang Rental Services is looking for a motivated, customer-focused Inside Sales Representative (ISR) to support our growing rental business. In this role, you’ll work directly with customers to understand their equipment needs, provide rental solutions, prepare quotes and reservations, and help turn customer inquiries into business.

This is a fast-paced, customer-facing position for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and working as part of a team. You’ll partner closely with our outside sales, operations, dispatch, service, and fleet teams to provide a smooth rental experience from the initial inquiry through the completion of the rental.

What You’ll Do

As an Inside Sales Representative, you’ll serve as a primary point of contact for customers and help manage the rental process from inquiry to order. Responsibilities include:

• Respond to inbound customer inquiries by phone, email, and other channels
• Identify customer equipment needs and recommend appropriate rental solutions
• Prepare accurate and timely quotes, reservations, and rental contracts
• Follow up on quotes and opportunities to help convert inquiries into rentals
• Build strong customer relationships through responsive, professional service
• Maintain established pricing guidelines and obtain approvals when exceptions are needed
• Identify opportunities to expand rentals or provide additional equipment solutions
• Coordinate equipment availability, delivery timelines, and customer requirements with operations and dispatch
• Process rental extensions, equipment swaps, off-rent requests, and other contract changes
• Partner with service and operations teams to address equipment or customer issues
• Support Outside Sales Representatives with quotes, orders, and customer needs
• Maintain accurate customer, quote, and sales activity information in company systems
• Help maximize equipment utilization by staying aware of customer demand and fleet availability

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred
• Previous inside sales, rental, or customer-facing experience
• Equipment rental, construction, heavy equipment, or industrial experience is a plus
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
• Ability to identify customer needs and confidently recommend solutions
• Strong communication and follow-up skills
• Excellent attention to detail when preparing quotes, contracts, and orders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working with CRM, ERP, rental management, or similar business systems
• Team-oriented approach and ability to work effectively across multiple departments
• Strong sense of urgency, accountability, and ownership
