Job summary

United Rentals, the world's largest equipment rental provider, is seeking an Inside Sales Rep for the Customer Care Center (CCC). You will handle inbound calls, create reservations and quotes, and deliver outstanding service to customers and prospects.

There is a four-week in-person new hire training at the start. After training, the role transitions to a hybrid schedule with four days in the office and one day from home each week.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1–2 years inside sales experience focused on lead generation, preferably in construction-related industry.
• Strong customer service and verbal/written communication skills are essential.
• Proficient in MS Office; strong computer/typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls and identify equipment needs for customers and prospects.
• Capture all information for reservations accurately.
• Use reservation, phone log, and quote systems; maintain notes in Salesforce and related tools.
• Communicate terms and conditions to customers.
• Convert inquiries and quotes to reservations; upsell when appropriate.
• Suggest substitutions when requested equipment is unavailable.
• Negotiate rental prices per pricing policies.
• Coordinate with branch staff and field partners to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Identify leads for new business and pass to the appropriate team.
• Meet service levels for response times, accuracy, and call quality.
• Communicate clearly and professionally in all channels.
• Participate in coaching and development for skill growth.
• Other duties as assigned.
